This must’ve been the thought of many people when the posts about Steam wishlisting started hitting the Internet. For me it was special news for other reasons: one of them was the fact that, for the first time in my life, I saw content I had created on a Steam store page. I am, of course, talking about the track screenshots.
You see, the team invited me to create tracks for GeneRally 2 using its Track Editor while also doubling as a play-tester and bug hunter - and I leapt at the chance.
As of the time of writing, I’ve spent around 15-20 hours with the GeneRally 2 Track Editor. The Editor, like the game, is not yet a finished product so I wonโt talk about things that will change, but I am thrilled to be able to share some of my impressions with you all!
Tuomo is one of the admins of GRIF and a track-maker with almost 300 tracks released for GeneRally 1. He has played GeneRally for 20 years and thinks it’s the best game ever. He is currently building tracks for GeneRally 2!
We’re excited to show you what GeneRally 2 looks like at the moment - and hope that you’ll support us by
hitting the “Add to Wishlist” button on the Steam store page.
Wishlisting helps us out in a number of ways:
๐ It gives us a good idea of how many people are interested in purchasing GR2.
๐ข It lets us notify people who are interested, about the game’s upcoming launch.
โญ It helps others to find the game on Steam, too!

Whichever option you choose, we will not spam you and we will not sell, trade or otherwise misuse your email address - we’ll only use it to keep you up-to-date on GeneRally 2-related things. And, of course, you can always keep up-to-date by looking right here, on the GeneRally website!
Those of you who signed up to receive updates via email during the previous GeneRally Player Survey some years ago may already be signed up for surveys, testing and the newsletter. If you’re unsure whether that’s you, you can sign up again ๐
Today marked another one of our team Dev Days, where we get together to work on GR2 simultaneously (whilst chatting and eating pizza). Again, due to Coronavirus ๐ท, we had this one remotely, but the (Christmas) spirit was high, regardless!
This time around we were focussing on improving usability, improving the visuals and also fixing some long-standing bugs in both the Editor and the car physics.
2021 has represented a significant step forward in our goals and objectives - and we’re excited about what will happen in 2022, too ๐
We thought it was about time for a small update about what the team have been working on recently.
๐จ The Track Editor gained some new brush types and improved UI - and work is proceeding with the preview mode.
๐ Car suspension physics are being reworked to provide a nicer driving experience - and will see more updates in July.
๐ฎ Some improvements have been made to our track importing and exporting.
๐ณ Work is proceeding on our “final” 3D models, which will be replacing the placeholders that have been admirably “holding place” for about a year now.
